Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor will oversee and manage all aspects of quality control within the mining operations, ensuring that the products and processes meet the company’s high standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The Quality Supervisor will lead a team of quality control technicians, implement quality assurance procedures, and collaborate with various departments to maintain quality standards throughout the mining process. The Quality Supervisor will also manage scale house and load out employees. Position is based out of Ottumwa, IA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Oversight:
- Supervise the daily quality control activities in the mining and processing operations.
- Ensure that products meet industry, customer, and company standards.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent quality.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of products, processes, and equipment.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality control technicians.
- Schedule and assign tasks, ensuring sufficient staff for all quality-related functions.
- Provide training on quality control processes and ensure staff are familiar with industry best practices.
- Foster a safety-conscious, team-oriented, and quality-driven work environment.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain accurate quality reports and records of inspections, test results, and compliance.
- Conduct and document regular reviews of quality performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Manage non-conformance issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Working Conditions:
- The position may require occasional travel to remote mining sites.
