Seeking a Behavior Technician at Brayton Elementary School for the 2024/2025 school year. This position is for the school year only. It is for 7 hours per day for 5 days per week (184 days).Job Goal: To provide the best educational experience for the schools students.Supervision: Reports to Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services.Performance Responsibilities: The Behavior Technician functions as a member of the school team and provides direct supervision and training to students as assigned by the building principal and under the supervision of the districts BCBA/BCaBA consultant.1.Collaborate with teachers and administrators to provide a highly structured approach to behavioral management2.Work with students to reduce behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruption3.Use strategies provided by the BCBA (ie discrete trial training) to instruct students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs4.Provide mentoring and direct support to students during specified un-structured times of the day (lunch, recess, etc)5.Collect data on behavioral interventions and assist in monitoring progress6.With teachers and other support staff, implement elements of student behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and Special Education Coordinator7.Participate in meetings (IEP, Behavior Plan, etc.) as necessary.The Committee's policy of nondiscrimination will extend to students, staff, the general public, and individuals with whom it does business; No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town or in obtaining the advantages, privileges, and courses of study of such public school on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.
