What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Cider Maker position at North Country Hard Cider?
North Country Hard Cider is hiring a full-time assistant cider maker to join our team in our new Dover, NH facility. Founded in 2014 by three friends with a passion for making an all-natural hard cider, North Country stands behind their high-quality cider that is different from anything on the market. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, reliable and will be excited to expand their skillset in all aspects of cider making. Experience cider making, wine making, brewing, and/or working on a canning line is preferred.
The Assistant Cider Maker is responsible for supporting the Head Cider Maker in all aspects of cider making, kegging, and canning, including:
- Maintaining a sanitary environment, which includes but is not limited to cleaning floors, walls, tanks, machinery, and sinks.
- Keeping production area and cold rooms clean and organized.
- Maintaining pumps, hoses, and other hardware/equipment.
- Cleaning kegs.
- Monitoring fermentation and conditioning from rack-in through canning.
- Working on a canning line.
- Recording data and maintaining required documentation for all aspects of production and cellar operations.
- Participating in events as a representative of North Country Hard Cider.
Job Requirements:
- Able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
- Able to work both independently and within a team setting
- Receptive to direction and constructive feedback
- Capable of lifting 60 lbs multiple times during a shift
- Able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
- Able to stand on concrete floors for the duration of the shift (8-10 hours)
- Capable of using a hand-truck to move kegs
- Able to move pallets of kegs using a pallet jack (will train)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Experience working on a canning line and/or in brewing, cider, or wine business preferred
Compensation:
- We offer a competitive wage based on experience
- Full time, 36 – 40 hours per week

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
