What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Control Center Supervisor position at North County Transit - San Diego Railroad?
Under the direction and oversight of the Director-Operations Control Center, the Operations Control Center Supervisor is responsible for safe, efficient, and reliable daily operation of the Operations Control Center (OCC) in accordance with NCTD requirements and procedures and applicable federal, state, local, and regulatory laws, rules, or guidelines.
This role demands the capability to effectively handle high-pressure safety oversight and management tasks, prioritize various duties logically, and supervise employees to ensure the safe and efficient movement of passenger, commuter, light and freight rail.
This role is characterized by its responsibility and authority to directly coordinate communications and management between Bus and Train Dispatchers, operations, safety, and security staff during revenue service, as well as oversee the management of accidents, incidents, and service disruptions.
This role is designated as Safety-Sensitive in accordance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and will participate in a random testing pool under those guidelines.
Supervision Received and ExercisedThis position reports to the Director of Dispatching Operations - Rail and has direct supervisory responsibility for Dispatchers and Assistant Dispatchers.
This position will also provide oversight and guidance to other NCTD and Contractor staff located in the Operations Control Center.
This position requires the ability to understand, comply, and enforce regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures in a comprehensive and consistent manner.
Further, this position participates in the sharing of expert knowledge as a vital member of various project teams.Working Conditions
Normal working conditions for this position are in both an office and field setting.
The OCC Supervisor must be able to work assignments as directed by the Director of Dispatching Operations – Rail, which include all hours of the day, seven days per week, including holidays.
Business travel may be required periodically between District sites, governmental agencies, consultants' facilities, and other locations as required.Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
