What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weatherization Technician position at North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC)?
About the job: Weatherization crews work four 9 hour shifts per week, Mon – Thurs, day shift. Crews meet up every morning, load materials and tools into company vehicles and travel to the jobsite. You’re home every evening at the same time. HEALTH INSURANCE, RETIREMENT, and SICK/VACATION are provided as well as 13 PAID HOLIDAYS PER YEAR. Starting pay is $17.80 hourly with frequent raise opportunities and chances for promotion within the program and our company.
About you: You should be dependable, ready to work, and be teachable. Possessing all of the necessary construction or carpentry skills is not as important as having a positive attitude with a desire to listen and learn. If you are not an experienced carpenter but have an interest in the trade I strongly encourage you to apply. Seasoned carpenters looking for steady work with great benefits are encouraged to apply also.
We weatherize homes by installing insulation, windows, doors, and various other minor repairs. Training is provided! This is a registered apprenticeship and will result in award of a nationally accredited certification. This position also has numerous career paths that it may lead to within the department.
