EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelors Degree
Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Primary responsibility is to engage with parents in a meaningful way and provide guidance for educational programs, resources, and partnerships. Assist and support at-risk students who are experiencing barriers to success and build family capacity to participate effectively in school activities. Provide accessible resources to at-risk students to ensure academic success. Assist in the collection of data required for Learning Support Services evaluation.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works with the family engagement team, principals, and direct supervisor to create and implement a comprehensive family engagement plan focused on families, students, and the community for assigned cluster or clusters.
2. Offers classes/workshops based on family and community surveys that identify campus and cluster needs. Assists in districtwide family engagement classes, workshops, and events that help support all students' academic experiences and success for all campuses within the cluster.
3. Assists students to attain maximum educational benefits by informing families about and if necessary, referring them to special programs.
4. Collaborates with the Family Engagement team to offer evening student/parent workshops targeting CCMR, attendance, state testing requirements, and other essential knowledge for academic success for all campuses within the cluster.
5. Reviews and understands the Campus Instructional Improvement Plans for each campus within the cluster group assignment. Enhances the campus's ability to meet their CIIP goals through timely supports and campus initiatives.
6. Serves as liaison for students and their families and assists engagement between campus staff and families.
7. Continuously builds a relationship between the campus and a student’s home through home visits and positive phone calls.
8. Uses significant independent judgement and familiarity with the assigned cluster to perform work.
9. Assists with the most at-risk student-specific needs and targets students facing obstacles that impact academic, and social service needs.
10. Provides training to campus personnel in the areas of cultural, linguistic differences, and barriers for at-risk students through resources and direct teaching.
11. Initiates and supports family engagement program activities on campuses and through districtwide initiatives.
12. Collaborates with appropriate school staff and district programs that focus on student support services for at-risk students.
13. Disseminates information approved by the Learning Support Services department to parents, guardians, and appropriate school staff to promote academic success for all students.
14. Effectively communicates the goals and builds partnerships with parents, guardians, school staff, Parent Teacher Association members, civic organizations, community members, and local businesses.
15. Works collaboratively with Family Engagement Program team members to create Family Engagement catalog.
16. Participates in training to further develop professional skills and stay current with family engagement research and practices.
17. Maintains confidentiality of information.
18. Reports to work on time every day.
19. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Spanish
  • Willing to travel to multiple campuses
  • Willing to interact and work with culturally diverse populations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate.
