The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, Sheldahl, and Northern Ankeny. The District proudly serves over 2000 learners from preschool through 12th grade in five buildings (West Elementary in Polk City, grades PK thru 2nd; Big Creek Elementary in Polk City, grades 3rd-5th; Central Elementary in Alleman, grades PK thru 5th, Middle School in Alleman, grades 6th-8th; and High School in Alleman, grades 9th-12th).
We are looking for qualified substitute teachers that are excited to join the team onsite during teacher absences.
Compensation:
$140.00 per day (paid in half or full days)
School Hours:
8:15 AM - 3:15 PM
Requirements:
- Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners licensure (if interested in obtaining, see about obtaining Iowa licensure here)
- All applications must include a minimum of 3 completed references.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Substitute teachers are responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in absence of the regular teacher.
