The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, and Sheldahl. The District proudly serves over 1600 learners from 3 year old preschool through 12th grade in four buildings (West Elementary, PK-3 thru 4th; Central Elementary, PK-4 thru 5th, Middle School, 6th-8th; and High School, 9th-12th).
We are looking for a technology assistant to join the IT team.
Qualifications:
- Experience with OS X, ChromeOS, and Windows configuration.
- Experience with Networking and Wireless.
- Practical working knowledge of computers, operating systems, hardware, peripherals, networking, and software.
- Training and experience in computer/software troubleshooting.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students.
- Ability to follow through on projects with timely completion.
- Attention to detail.
Reports to: Director of Technology- Scott Growdon
Compensation: $21.06 - 24.57 per hour, based on qualifications
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Benefits: IPERS, paid leaves (personal, sick, vacation), district paid premiums for individual medical, dental, life, and vision. Eligibility to opt into coverage for other dependents and other coverages.
Job Goal: To provide information technology services throughout the district for students and staff.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance for computer equipment, peripherals, and other technical equipment.
- Provide support for Macintosh, Windows, iOS, iPads, Chromebooks, Phones, and other technical systems.
- Manage configuration and deployment of devices and applications
- Install, troubleshoot, update, and maintain operating systems and other software.
- Maintain records of computers and jobs completed.
- Work with and support needs of diverse groups, including students and staff.
- Configure and deploy new or replacement computers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed while sitting or standing.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Bending, carrying, climbing, travel between job sites, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, and walking
Education Requirements:
- 2 year degree in computer related field or combination of experience in IT and IT related education, or equivalent.
