Compensation package: Very competitive salary. Flexible work schedule. Three meals a day provided at no cost to employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Medical Director on psychiatric histories and assessments.
- Collaborates with Medical Director on medical illnesses and injuries.
- Obtains and writes physician orders based on results of assessments.
- Adheres to guidelines of approved medical protocols in making recommendations.
- Leads group therapy sessions as needed.
- May attend treatment team meetings as necessary and shares observations regarding specific patient behaviors and other relevant factors verbally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the legal boundaries of the position.
- Will adhere to all safety policies and safe work practices.
- Will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Completes all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff and related policies.
- Is knowledgeable of personal protective equipment to protect from exposure to chemicals and/or biohazard and is knowledgeable of hand washing techniques.
- Provides a safe environment at all times ensuring proper level of patient supervision and emergency behavior management interventions.
- Maintains working knowledge of patient confidentiality (HIPAA), patients’ rights, and child abuse reporting laws.
- Maintains current certification and provides copies to Human Resources (License, First Aid, CPR, etc).
- Follow North Spring Behavioral Healthcare’s Time and Attendance policy.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s level degree from an accredited school of nursing
Licensure: Licensed by Commonwealth of Virginia as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, CPR
Certification: certification, or able to complete certification.
Experience: Prefer experience with children and adolescents in psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; 80-90% of the time; the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, reaching while working with residents.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of residents.
Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
