Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Site Civil Engineer with 0-2 years of experience in commercial site design and permitting. This role is based in Flemington, NJ, with flexibility for some remote work. The Site Civil Engineer will be responsible for civil engineering design, stormwater management, and project execution. More specifically:
- Have a working knowledge of engineering practices, principles, and awareness of applicable regulations and codes as related to land development.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while being flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to review municipal ordinances to perform zoning analyses and prepare written summaries.
- Perform due diligence on properties including site visits, review of available mapping, review of agency regulations, verbal discussions with municipalities and various agencies, and coordination with utility companies.
- Assist the project managers/project engineers with the design of land development projects which could include zoning reviews, grading, earthwork analysis, stormwater management designs, and roadway and utility profiles.
- Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD to prepare the base maps and site plan documents for projects including layer management, implementation of company standards, drawing scales and viewports.
- Prepare cost estimates based on design drawings.
- Preparation of written correspondence with outside agencies, contractors, clients, etc. Also includes preparation of technical reports including Site Investigation Reports, Drainage Reports, and other reports required during the approval process.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to outside parties such as clients and municipalities.
- Demonstrate the willingness to expand his/her knowledge base via in-house training and/or self-training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- EIT certification is preferred but not required.
- 0-2 years engineering work experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work on a team and work independently.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal
