What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Crisis Clinician - Per Diem position at NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC?
North Suffolk's CBHC - Emergency Services Program is looking for Per Diem Mobile Crisis Clinicians to join our team! The Per Diem Mobile Crisis Clinicians provide direct emergency psychiatric clinical services, coordination and consultation to other care providers.
What you'll do:
- Assess crisis or emergency situations and intervene immediately with appropriate clinical treatment for clients.
- Evaluate clients in terms of treatment setting and treatment plan. This needs to include presenting the problem, social, family, psychiatric and medical history, mental status, education and vocational needs, formulation of tentative diagnosis, treatment plan and recommendations.
- Identify needs and strengths, assist in planning, implementing and evaluating care for individuals and families in conjunction with community resources.
- Coordinate the appropriate network of health and human service agencies to maximize the opportunities for growth and self reliance for patients and their families in the community.
- Provide brief crisis intervention follow-up.
- Fulfill all aspects of the YMCI (Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention) ESP specifications, which requires in-home crisis intervention with youth and families.
- Provide mobile psychiatric service to clients in coordination with other community service providers.
- Prepare written/computer case recording documents, within time limits.
- Determine client payment source and complete necessary documentation.
What you’ll need:
- Education/Skills:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or other relevant Medicaid reimbursable clinical specialty required.
- Valid independent clinical license (LICSW/LMHC) preferred
- Spanish speaking applicants strongly encouraged to apply! Additional language differential for program-needed language skills.
- Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year in a psychiatric emergency service or similar setting required.
- Must have access to a car and possess a valid driver's license.
