Description
The Northbrook Park District is hiring an Athletics Coordinator to plan, organize and supervise assigned recreation program areas and services. The Coordinator also implements and enforces Park District policies and procedures across program operations and at special events. This position involves program management and administrative duties.
Wage & Shift Information
Monday Friday, 10 am-4pm. Evening or weekend work when assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, organizing and supervising of assigned recreation programs, facilities and special events including sports leagues and summer camps
- Monitor indoor and outdoor facilities and programs for compliance with procedures
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training for seasonal and part-time staff; may assist with supervision of part-time staff
- Act as a back-up on-site program supervisor as needed
Process facility use applications, schedule rentals and collect payments. Monitor program budgets and recommend fees. Prepare and submit required reports and logs. Order and organize supplies and equipment. Develop promotional material in coordination with the Marketing and Communication Department. Coordinate any bus or transportation services. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of two (2) years of college or university course work with a focus on Recreation or Sports Management, including customer service experience. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Sports Management is preferred.
Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required. Must have customer service skills, be able to interact positively with children and adults, and recognize issues and resolve them independently. Some knowledge of athletic or recreation programming is needed. Must have a CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within one (1) month of hire and possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
