We are looking for an HR assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. The HR assistant duties involve a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from maintaining our employee database to posting job ads. An important part of your role will be to act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. You’ll assist in creating policies, processes, and documents. To be an ideal candidate, you should be able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire, and retain our employees.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
- Compile and maintain employee files, records, and documentation.
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and termination.
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist with payroll functions including resolving timekeeping issues and processing payroll.
- Assist with recruiting efforts.
- Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees.
- Assist with planning events, including open enrollment, employee recognition programs, and safety meetings.
Skills
- Experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using Google applications and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software applications.
- Basic knowledge of labor laws.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
