What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Triage Tech position at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center Health System?
This position performs various care activities and related services necessary in caring for the emergent and urgent needs and comfort of patients while assisting the RN with functions in the Emergency Department Lobby and Triage area. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of all ages within the scope of their training and expertise. The care given by the Emergency Medical Technician should be in accordance with the plan of care established by the licensed nurse. The Emergency Medical Technician communicates between unit/department and other departments of the organization. This position is also responsible for carrying out any other duties deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care under the direction and supervision of the physician and/or professional nurse, to include performing other clerical duties using computer desktop applications; relaying messages to the appropriate personnel and assisting in maintaining patient flow; participating in the orientation and training of personnel and performing other duties as assigned.
Graduate of accredited EMT School required. Current Advanced EMT Certification required.
Previous field experience as Basic or Advanced EMT required.
Current Advanced EMT certification, BLS required.
