We are looking for a full time Maintenance Technician to help support our growing facilities department!
Job Summary: Performs preventive and general maintenance duties and repairs on equipment and properties to maintain the physical condition and appearance of the property and ensure safety standards. Ensures work is completed in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs various maintenance and preventative functions including minor repairs that do not require the need for a license in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, painting, and HVAC issues. preventative repairs and monitors facilities problems.
- Maintains repair van and monitors inventories supplies.
- Assists with snow removal during all hours determined by the weather and designated by supervisor.
- Maintains lighting by installing light bulbs and ballasts.
- Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up litter; removing ice and snow from walkways and parking lots.
- Completes special requests by hauling furniture, files and boxes; moving and setting up appliances; and preparing rooms for meetings.
- Maintains building interior, equipment, fixtures, walls, ceiling, woodwork and caulking.
- Provides on-call assistance for facility-related emergencies after regular business hours and notifies appropriate personnel and follows safety protocols.
- Assists with other areas of department including janitorial, disinfection and inventory management and delivery.
- Handles vendor and trade service calls when Facilities Director or Senior Technician are not available.
- Creates and update/close work orders in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and previous experience in a maintenance capacity.
- Technical school or maintenance-related certifications, a plus.
- Experienced in operating equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers and small hand tools.
- Effective written and oral communication skills. Able to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures. Attention to details and pleasant customer service skills are necessary.
- Possesses adequate knowledge of plumbing, electrical and heating standards practices. Basic knowledge of general carpentry.
- Computer proficient.
- Availability to work on-call and weekend coverage.
- Valid drivers license required.
