What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Worker position at Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District 2021?
JOB SUMMARY
Under close supervision, perform routine building and grounds work. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Sweep, clean, dust, wax and buff floors; operate powered cleaning machines.
- Dust and polish furniture; empty waste baskets.
- Work from scaffolds or ladders to clean walls, ceilings and fixtures.
- Wash wall surfaces, baseboards, windows; help move furniture and set up equipment.
- Perform routine building and grounds cleanup.
- Maintain cleaning supplies; sweep.
- Rake and wash walks and roadways; shovel snow and spread salt on icy pavements.
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to buildings, furniture and equipment.
- Replace light bulbs; assist with maintenance of grass and landscaped areas, including grass mowing, and pruning shrubbery and trees.
- Report needs for major repairs.
- Observe safe work practices.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Candidate must possess a High school diploma or it’s GED Equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must possess no previous years of experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Candidate must possess the ability to read and write, to do manual labor, to follow verbal and written instructions, to use tools required to perform various tasks.
- Candidate must possess the ability to be reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.
