Position Summary
Coordinates the completion of preliminary referral paperwork for patients within a Fort Gibson Clinic. Provides a quality customer service experience while assisting with the registration of outpatient office visits and scheduling procedures. Performs secretarial duties including typing, filing, answering telephones and making copies.
Position Accountabilities
Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control policies and procedures.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Processes all incoming referrals and responds to referring provider and patient in a timely manner regarding the appointment time.
Communicates information to the referring provider regarding the patient’s progress in a timely manner.
Assists with development of department goals and objectives. Implements policies and procedures for department operation.
Ensures that the registration function runs smoothly and efficiently by overseeing operations, expediting problems and coordinating with the providers to ensure patients are scheduled according to established clinical protocols.
Reviews hospital admissions to ensure accurate financial and biographical data and documentation have been obtained and properly entered into the computer and/or clinic records.
Coordinates with medical, nursing and registration staff to ensure appropriate placement of patients and compliance with third party payers and other regulations.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Understands work priorities with the ability to manage multiple tasks, control work inventories, and complete activities in an appropriate and timely manner.
Responds to e-mails and phone calls within 1 business day.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education - High School or equivalent
Management Experience - Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills, Previous physician office experience preferred
Salary : $29,300 - $37,100
