Field Project Manager – Full-Time Year-Round
Northern Ecological Services is a full-service restoration and land management company based in Esko, MN. As people who both work and play outdoors, we are keenly aware that restoring and protecting our finite natural resources is of the utmost importance. We are proud to do our part and contribute towards this important effort.
Our work includes project design, consultation, installation, and project maintenance for customers that are a mix of public agencies, businesses, and private landowners. Projects range from residential landscapes and solar gardens to larger stream restoration and wetland management.
Our field crew works in:
- Native plant landscaping and pollinator habitat creation
- Reforestation and wetland mitigation
- Ecological restoration and erosion control
- Invasive species management
Job responsibilities include:
- Reading and implementing project specifications
- Communicating with supervisors on project progress
- Instructing seasonal employees on tasks in the field
- Seeding and planting native species
- Native and invasive plant identification
- Herbicide application
- Installing erosion control materials
- The use of hand tools and small power equipment
- Driving company vehicles, tractors, and equipment
Project managers must be able to attain industry licenses, paid for by the company, such as a DOT health card, MSHA certification, and a commercial pesticide applicator license.
Work can involve heavy lifting and working on difficult terrain in and near water. Field work is weather dependent but be aware that we still work outdoors in adverse conditions. The ability to lead and work as a team is important.

This is a full-time, year-round salaried position. Typical work hours during the peak of the season are 7am-6pm Monday-Friday and vary based on the needs of the project and time of year. Some overnight travel with paid accommodations is expected.
Starting salary is offered at $43,000-$45,000/year depending on experience, paid bi-weekly. Benefits include paid time off, bonuses, a health care reimbursement plan, and a 401k matching plan.
