Job Summary
Responsible for performing administrative related to the operations of the Accounting Department as directed by the Accounting Manager.
Summary of Essential Functions
- Accounts Payable Duties - Verifies invoices billed against inventory ordered/received and reconciles differences through follow-up with the vendor and/or other employees; Posts financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system, according to instructions; Assigns appropriate codes to company data.
- Cash Handling Duties - Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements, and statements.
- Administrative Duties - Performs basic office administrative duties including, but not limited to answering a multiline phone system, filing, data entry, directing calls, coping documents, using Microsoft Office, etc; Assist the Accounting Manager with daily operations of the Accounting Department as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1) High School Diploma or equivalent;
2) 6 months equivalent working experience;
3) 6 months Microsoft Office Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Paycheck and/or Sage software; data entry experience; general accounting experience; basic inventory management
Hours
Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week; 8:30am to 4:30pm depending on candidates availability
Work Setting
Environment: sedentary; office
Physical Demands: Prolong periods sitting at a desk/working at a computer; ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Traveling: <3% - as needed (example: certified mail, storage of files, etc.)
