What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED RN position at Northern Inyo Healthcare District?
The ED RN renders primary nursing care consistent with recognized standards to all patients, family, and the community. Communicates and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired, quality patient outcomes. Demonstrates the ability to delegate appropriately and coordinate delivery of care; assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of care resources; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution, is sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow employees. The ED RN provides care to patients with various illnesses or trauma requiring emergency attention, and must be able to recognize and intervene effectively in life-threatening situations
- Graduate of School of Nursing
- Current California State License as a Registered Nurse required
- BSN/BA preferred
- 1 year Emergency Department experience required.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS upon hire and on-going
- TNCC and MICN Preferred.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members
- Analytical skills necessary in order to prioritize workload and prepare nursing care plans, implement effective nursing care and develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s body, mind, and spirit
- Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet
- Ability to learn Computer software programs applicable to patient care and operations process.
- Must be able to understand, read and write in English
