We are seeking an Registered Nurse to join our Psychiatric team. The Psychiatric Registered Nurse will assist Psychiatric staff by measuring and recording client vital signs, preparing clients for psychiatric examinations, triaging clients, and assisting with other duties as necessary.         

Essential Functions include:    

• Complete preliminary screenings/ risk assessments with clients
• Triage with clients as needed. Schedule rapid-access appointments for clients determined to be eligible
• Assist clients by providing resource and referral
• Maintain excellent communication and collaboration with all programs within Northern Pines Mental Health Center
• Communicate with internal and external providers to ensure continuity of care
• Provide health and wellness education to clients when requested
• Maintain program tracking of integrated treatment planning by communicating with treatment teams
• Coordinate/attend multi-disciplinary meetings to address client needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Measure and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and O2 saturation for psychiatry clients
• Assist with medication refills and start prior authorizations for psychiatry providers
• Communicate information to supervisors, co-workers, and team and community partners by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person regarding clients as necessary
• Monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to medical staff
• Collaborate with or assist psychiatric staff in working with clients to treat, rehabilitate, and return to the community. Assist psychiatric staff with examinations/ treatments as needed and under the supervision of medical staff
• Collect and record medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals
• Perform clerical work to support the psychiatric department as needed
• Manage incoming and outgoing faxes for the Psychiatric team
• Assist with appointment needs and provider scheduling 
• Position patients for treatment or examination with psychiatric staff
• Responsible for monthly schedules for Psychiatric staff. This includes navigating schedules, scheduling appointments, and determining eligibility of client to be seen by clinician considering age, need, and insurance
• Address immediate needs of client as identified in the level of risk. This may require connecting consumers to Mobile Crisis Outreach services, Emergency Services and/or other supports
• Work with client insurance including: insurance verification, fielding insurance questions, obtaining necessary authorizations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing License in the State of Minnesota
• Travel is a function of this position, a valid driver’s license is required
• Experience working in the Psychiatric/ Mental Health field is preferred
• Current First Aide Certification is preferred
• Current CPR Certification is preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred

Compensation & Benefits include:

• Wage Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually
