A well-established distributor located in Anchorage is looking for a self-starter to join our warehouse operations team. This person will assist in all aspects of shipping /receiving and order selecting as well as other duties related to processing customer orders. This is a full time position open immediately. Our company provides a great work environment and an excellent benefit package. Our operations team is very close, and extremely efficient. Experience is desired, but attitude and the ability to work closely with the team is essential.
Direct reporting to: Warehouse Receiving Manager
This position is classified as: Hourly; Non-Exempt; Full-Time
Available Shift: Typical schedule (based on customer and/or company needs): Mon – Fri: 4 am – 12:30
Objectives
To assist warehouse operations in running an efficient Shipping & Receiving Department in order to process, store, and ship products accurately and safely.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and replenishing inbound stock accurately and timely with use of forklift and Order Pickers
- Communicating short-ships, discrepancies, and/or damaged merchandise to Warehouse Operations Manager
- Maintaining an accurate on-hand inventory in the distribution center through cycle counts, physical inventories, and adjustments in the computer program.
- Other duties as assigned
Supplies/Maintenance
- Regularly reviews inventories of supplies and communicates needs to Warehouse Operations Manager
- Inventories and keeps track of tools and equipment as needed
- Maintains an orderly receiving and shipping area
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting cases weighing from 20-60 pounds repeatedly throughout the work day; as well as loading, pushing and pulling heavy product. Bending, reaching and squatting throughout the shift while loading and moving products. Must be detail oriented. Working in either a dry or freeze (10-degrees F) environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Reliable Transportation is a must
- 1 – 2 years working knowledge of distribution/warehouse flow (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, and be open to constant change
- Effective written and oral communication skills; demonstrated excellent organizational skills
