Position Summary
Provide patient care and telephone triage, advice and health education for ancillary staff, clinic patients, and callers to the practice. Provides direct professional nursing care to clinic patients and families by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills. Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care. Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization. Maintains current and approved standard protocols to provide timely access to care and patient safety. This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as a primary resource for patients, collaborating with providers and functioning as part of a team to achieve patient outcomes based on diagnosis and prognosis.
- Collects information about patient history, presenting complaint and symptoms to allow for appropriate evaluation, classification, advice and disposition of the patients request.
- Collects, prioritizes, and synthesizes comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Develops and implements a plan that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Evaluates the patients progress towards attainment of the outcome.
Selection Criteria:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license in the State of MN
- Prefer experience in specialty and triage
- Strong customer service skills and effective communication
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
- Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 mo, company paid)
Scope:
- 80hrs/2wks
- Shift: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
- Weekend Requirements: None
- Holiday Requirements: Off most major holidays or limited shift
