What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Nursing position at Northlake Behavioral Health System?
- Guide nursing administrators to ensure continuity and an acceptable level of patient care on evenings and nights
- Assist in preparation of budget for nursing. Promote inter and intra-departmental cooperation and collaboration
- Conduct and/or attends meetings and committees as assigned both within the hospital and with external agencies
- Promote personal and professional growth
Essential Functions:
- Assists Director of Nursing with all aspects of the nursing department, nursing practice, and direct care staff, and directly supervises the nursing supervisors, infection control nurse, med clinic nurse, and nursing staff throughout the hospital
- Actively communicates issues, serious occurrences, and concerns about patient care and milieu management to the CEO, DCS, and RM. Participates and provides input about patient’s behavior and medical needs to the interdisciplinary treatment team and attends treatment team meetings a minimum of 1-2 times monthly for each program
- Ensure the nursing department follows all hospital policies and procedures and follows all state, federal, and JOINT regulatory requirements. Assist with implementation of accepted nursing practice throughout the hospital following state, federal, and JCAHO requirements
- Assist with the personnel management associated with direct supervision of the nursing staff, including hiring, screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and disciplinary actions and employee relations functions; actively participate in the hospital orientation process.
- Provide training as needed to staff members at all levels
- Make routine leadership rounds throughout the hospital and is highly visible as a leader to all employees and completes leadership rounds forms as required

- An unencumbered RN Louisiana or Compact State license
- A current CPR certificate
- One year of experience in Behavioral Health nursing, and at least one year in Nurse Management

Salary : $62,700 - $79,400
