Job Title: Credit Administrator

Department: Underwriting

Reports To: Credit Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary: The Credit Administrator works closely with the Underwriters, AVP, Chief Risk Officer, Sales, Account Manager and Portfolio Manager in the process of decision making on accounts in the underwriting process

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Customer Service – Provide prompt, professional and proficient assistance to customers. Includes but not limited to handling inquiries regarding credit submissions, collection of data, financial statements and contracts.
  • Team Environment – Team environment is essential for this role success and would require participation to ensure communication and process expectations are met.
  • Underwriting Submission – Create and ensure complete package to underwriter and requires all conditions on file are accurate and file approved at correct authority level.
  • Underwriting documentation – Create legal documentation packages based upon accounts credit decision and communicate to both sales and customers.
  • Condition follow-up – Monitor, communicate and process conditional items for activation and decision of file. Resolution on all outstanding conditions, communication and system inputs that reflect status of file. Communicate to management on any risk issues and non-complete conditions.
  • Credit processes – Assist all function of the underwriting process, the front end and back end process associated with credit submissions.
  • Administrative Duties – Process suspense, process reverse/reapplications, file, create, run and fax various reports as directed.
  • Manage internal system inputs and processes, including customer account modifications.
  • Special projects - as assigned.

  • Ability to Focus on tasks assigned
  • Issue approved credit decisions through written communication on commercial loans ranging between $50,000 - $100,000,000.
  • Communicate credit policies as outline in Corporate Policy guide.
  • High level understanding of business financial statements including balance sheet, income statement.
  • Identify and infer varying line items of balance sheet and income statement.
  • Detect and identify varying associated related businesses.
  • Identify and Ability to communicate and evaluate deficiencies in credit submissions.
  • Generate accurate credit account in system of record.
  • Understand basis requirements of Insurance business coverage.
  • Identify and evaluate borrower’s State of business or incorporation.
  • Ability to navigate on government official web sites.
  • Analyze organizational structures.
  • Analyze and detect deficiencies in corporate verifications.
  • Research and analyze UCC filings to determine priority and nature of each filing and effect on loan package.
  • Ability to generate notifications to other lenders using corporate forms.
  • Evaluate Credit Conditions and communicate to borrower, sales and management.
  • Maintain in system of record detailed notes and exceptions.
  • Communicate to Underwriter on deficiencies in credit conditions.
  • Accurately build communication of credit decision using corporate standard forms.
  • Accurately build legal documentation using corporate forms.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance regarding loan documentation.
  • Ability to follow for documentation from borrower.
  • Accurately communicate follow up on conditions.
  • Review legal documentation to ensure transactions are accurately structured and adequately secured
  • Ensure system of record reflects credit approval.
  • Highlight material factors on information from personal and commercial credit bureaus.
  • Understand industry, market, and management risks that can affect a borrower.
  • Ensure completion of all credit requests within required corporate time target.
  • Drive business improvements to identify new initiatives and enhance process efficiencies.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Or alternatively, minimum of high school diploma or GED and related experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to draft customer facing emails and correspondence on a regular basis. Ability to communicate effectively via phone with a variety of, sales, underwriter, manufacturer/dealer contacts.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized format.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office required, specifically, Salesforce, DocuSign, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
