RELATES CLOSELY WITH: Food Service Director, Executive Chef, Admin Assistants, Volunteers
SCOPE:
This is an hourly position currently requiring approximately up to a 28-hour work week in order to accomplish the task of the position and service the clients while in-house. Weekend and evening work is scheduled on an as needed basis to provide the quality of service required, so that ministry, food service and café duties may be fulfilled seven days per week, the responsibilities of this position are shared by the Food Service Manager and Executive Chef.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position shall be responsible to set the standards and procedures for the Food Service Ministry to meet and/ or exceed levels required of NorthRidge Church, communicate them to the departmental staff/volunteers, and train and support the staff/volunteers in fulfillment of these goals. It is the responsibility of this individual to monitor the sales and servicing efforts of the department. It is important for this individual to set the standard for the entire staff /volunteers to treat all guests and employees alike in compliance with our Mission Statement, reflecting honesty, integrity, morality, innovation, a servant’s heart and love for strangers. A Christ-like attitude must be displayed in all dealings with staff to fulfill the role of this position.
PRIMARY GIFT NEEDS:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and motivate the Café Ministry Team. Including, but not limited to recruitment, training and creation of a Cafe Volunteer Serving Team alongside Food Service Director.
Training of Volunteers and assign specific tasks.
Culinary and kitchen support.
Manage POS system.
Handle cash deposits on a timely manner.
Maintain Café area and equipment, in its cleaning, upkeep and replacement.
Monitor the sales and service efforts of the support staff, ensuring they are provided with the proper training and tools required to fulfill their roles.
Monitor communications with other Church Departments to ensure they are provided with appropriate information to allow them to effectively meet their needs.
Supervise the daily operations to provide quality client sales and service, and to consistently stress the professional and spiritual growth of all employees.
Develop good working relationships with all ministries as well as the community at large.
As business needs dictate, provide ongoing support during functions as needed.
Advise Church Business Administrator of any guest problems or difficulties that may surface.
Maintain work area in orderly and professional manner.
Remain flexible in scheduling to meet the demand of the Church as needed and complete the other assignments, as the Church Business Administrator deems necessary.
Develop great Customer service by staff and volunteers.
Moving items as required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
