Pay Scale: $33.75/hr - $52.31/hr depending on candidate experience.

Shift:

• Day Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm and 8:30am-5:00pm (FT 40 hrs/wk, Rotating Hours and Locations)
• Must be willing to travel to all Hospital locations within the NorthShore University HealthSystem. Candidates will not start training to rotate locations until 6-12mo. into the position (Mileage reimbursement is only offered if traveling in between two locations in the same day, frequency could be 0-2 times a week).

Qualifications:

• Certification: CT (ASCP) Certification & Thin Prep Certification
• Experience: Must be a recent Cytotechnology graduate or have recent Hospital-based experience.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in either Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences and Successful Completion of 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology Program.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and report negative gynecological cases and interpret abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration cases.
• Identify diagnostic material and refer cases to the pathologists appropriately, serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team, and provide technical advice and perform cyto-preparation and processing as needed.
• Maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities, maintain quality control records where indicated, and assist cytology management in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities or other special projects.
