Responsibilities:
- Recruit, lead, train and develop a team of chemists and laboratory technicians.
- Oversee/perform radiochemistry operations as needed to support product development.
- Work with Regulatory and Quality to ensure products and processes are compliant with all required regulations and standards and are managed with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Working with Program Management and the Manager, Radiochemistry and Analytical Laboratories, set priorities, plan, and execute projects. Develop project schedules, test plans, and other project documentation. Align plans with other projects to ensure adequate resources. Guide teams to meet deliverables. Provide regular updates and project summaries as needed.
- Participate in product design and development initiatives providing guidance on complexity, time and effort, schedule, and costs for radiochemistry and analytical lab support while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the planning, purchasing, and implementation of all analytical equipment used in the radiochemical and analytical laboratories.
- Provide input to radiochemistry and analytical lab budgets. Work with Finance and Management to establish budgets, support capital spending plans, and execute capital approval processes as required. Elevate financial issues for resolution as needed.
- Support FDA and other agency reportable data collection activities, work with Regulatory, Quality, and management as needed to ensure timely and accurate submission of data and reports.
- With management approval, participate in scientific organizations and meetings as radiochemistry SME for NorthStar.
- Provide concise communication of complex scientific issues internally and to external government agencies when required.
Have completed training and become familiar with your essential duties
In 6 Months You’ll:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the function and operations of radiochemistry and analytical equipment.
- Experience with project management approaches and tools, project planning, and timeline.
- Previous experience working in a cGMP environment.
The work environment may include exposure to a heated/air-conditioned indoor office / manufacturing / cleanroom setting with adequate ventilation and lighting and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. The noise level may vary from quiet to loud. Employees must be willing and able to wear various types of PPE, including, but not limited to, respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, as required by the job to ensure safety in potentially hazardous conditions. Specific cleanroom requirements include employees needing to inform leadership about any health condition that may have an adverse effect on products, as well as compliance with gowning protocols. This means all jewelry, including physically attached items, must not interfere with the effectiveness of personal protective equipment. In addition, all cosmetics, fragranced products (perfumes, aftershave, etc.), and nail products are prohibited, including clear nail polish, artificial nails, and nail extenders.
