Job Title: Laboratory Courier
Home Location: Fayetteville, AR
Terms: Part-time, (initial 90 day probationary period)
Shift: Day-Shift, schedule and routes may vary, or may include weekend coverage
Reports To: Courier Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company vehicle to transport specimens, slides, materials, and supplies to and from assigned routes.
- Operate a cellphone for client and laboratory communication, and additionally to utilize map and address features necessarily for logistics.
- Transport specimens from facilities to the laboratory in a timely and safe manner.
- Deliver slides and verify appropriate delivery to assigned pathologists at their respective locations.
- Utilize computer, printer, and scanners as specified in daily tasks.
- Deliver supplies to clients in a timely fashion.
- Ability to be adaptable when changes may occur in routes.
- Check all specimen pickup locations within facilities, as directed by the supervisor.
- Scan and print manifest logs for specimen tracking and chain of custody.
- Acknowledge and complete ad hoc client pickups assigned though out the day.
- Complete end of shift car log upon returning the laboratory each work day.
- Demonstrate proper etiquette, professionalism and respect while interacting with clients, coworkers, and leadership.
- Communicate issues to the Courier Supervisor for timely resolution.
- Adhere to compliance, confidentiality, and safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in general and job specific training sessions and annual competency assessment.
Job Requirements: Courier tasks require certain physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully complete their daily assignments.
- Ability to transport specimens, slides, supplies and materials between the laboratory on all routes assigned. Routes may vary depending on daily staffing and on demand requests.
- Hearing and speech abilities to communicate in person and over the phone.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or push 25 pounds.
- Ability to read printed materials and computer screens.
- Mobility to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to transport packaged specimens that may contain chemicals, blood, or bodily fluids.
- Ability to work independently.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be 26 years of age to comply with company insurance compliance
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 29 per week
Day range:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
