The Role – The Senior Manager of Training Operations will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the training function within Northwest Center's Amazon division. This position is key to enhancing the effectiveness of our customer-facing teams and nurturing a customer-centric culture across multiple locations.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that align our training initiatives with business goals. You will manage stakeholder relationships, oversee budget planning, and ensure the consistency of our training programs.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in corporate training who can elevate our training processes and behaviors to support scalability, program excellence, and organizational growth. You will lead and guide our talented learning design and facilitation teams, ensuring that our programs develop essential skills and competencies throughout the Northwest Center at Amazon division.

Starting Salary Range: $135,408 - $157,331 per year | Full Salary Range: $135,408 - $179,254 per year

Essential Duties:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Lead the creation and execution of annual and long-term strategic plans for the training function
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in training methodologies and technologies
- Establish and maintain quality standards for all training programs and materials
- Implement robust evaluation and feedback mechanisms to continually improve training effectiveness
- Oversee the development and maintenance of training documentation, including SOPs and best practices
- Ensure consistency and quality of training delivery across all geographic regions
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange between regional training teams
- Develop strategies for scaling training programs to new regions and business units
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the training team
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent for the training function
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, program managers, and client representatives
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage the annual training budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Forecast future resource needs and make recommendations for scaling the training function
- Optimize resource utilization across all training programs and initiatives
Technology Implementation
- Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning management systems and other training technologies
- Drive the adoption of innovative training technologies to enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency
Reporting and Analytics
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the training function
- Prepare and present regular reports on training effectiveness, ROI, and impact on business outcomes
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and strategic planning
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in training and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful training strategies in a large, complex organization
- Experience managing training functions across multiple regions or business units
- Strong background in instructional design, adult learning theory, and training technology implementation
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in project management and budget planning
- In-depth knowledge of learning management systems and other training technologies
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, or related work experience acceptable
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to move within a 1.5-mile radius, including walking between various Amazon buildings.
- Ability to stand and/or sit at a computer workstation for up to 8 hours per workday.
- Fine motor skills to operate computer equipment and other office machinery.
- Vision: Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
- Hearing: Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
- Primary work setting is a combination of office environment and actively visiting several Amazon buildings
- Dog-friendly environment with over 1,000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs should consider this aspect of the work environment
- May occasionally require arriving early, staying late on short notice, or working evening and weekend shifts
- Local travel between Amazon buildings is required
- Potential for occasional business travel
