Job Overview –
Northwest Crane Service is seeking an experienced outside sales representative to work with existing customers and bring in new business opportunities. This person would be responsible for selling and management of various industrial lifting, hoisting, and transportation services. This role works directly with customers and Northwest’s internal operations and engineering teams. The outside sales representative will gather all relevant customer information and needs, determine the scope of work, recommend customized solutions, and submit competitive project pricing. The outside sales representative would also be the primary point of contact for communication with the customer over the course of the project through completion.
Job Duties –
· Develop strategies and tactics to build relationships with both new and existing target accounts.
· Estimate, prepare, and present tailored proposals for customer projects.
· Perform customer sales calls both remotely and in person at customer facilities, jobsites, trade shows, etc.
· Must be able to close sales by selling the value of Northwest and overcoming any objections.
· Coordinate and attend job walks to accurately gather scope of work information for project bidding/estimating.
· Organize and manage projects, accurately communicating and entering project orders and all necessary information in dispatch software for Northwest’s operations team.
· Work with Northwest’s engineering team to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient project execution.
· Asist billing team to ensure accurate and timely invoices are delivered to customers.
· Assist safety and contracts teams in facilitating any necessary customer agreements or safety documentation.
· Help with coordinating jobs in the field to assist our team in delivering top notch quality service.
· Communicate with our crane dispatch group daily and assist dispatch when called upon.
· Perform the duties previously listed for other Northwest fleets when necessary.
· Assist with customer appreciation events and programs as needed.
· Participate in Northwest company sales meetings.
· Ability to travel as necessary is required.
· Any other job duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Experience –
· Minimum of three to five years of verifiable sales or project management experience in an industrial or construction service industry.
· Bachelor’s degree or sufficient industry and technical experience required.
· Comprehensive knowledge of cranes and rigging, with the ability to read and understand schematics. blueprints, and technical manuals.
· Proven track record of business development for both new and existing customers.
· Knowledge of various sales and project management techniques.
· Skilled at communicating and relationship building from field to executive level.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
· Self-motivated with good decision making, problem solving, and excellent time management skills.
· Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
· Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
