  • Required Skills : Cardiac Telemetry, MS / Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central line care / management, Peripheral Line Care / Management, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, CVA, Chest tubes-Emerson / Pleuravac, External CPAP / BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Nasal Cannula , Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen face masks
  • Special Procedures / Unit Details :
  • Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Telemetry (RN to interpret & document rhythm)
  • Non-titratable Drips include : Amiodarone, Diltilizem Cardiazem, Amiodarone & Lasix.
  • Heparin - Heparin drip nursing protocol
  • Code Team Responders (recorders & time keepers)
  • Stroke certified unit
  • Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 4, but RN should be expected to take 1 : 5 based on acuity and downgrades
  • if floated to non tele med surg unit patient ratio is 1 : 6
  • PCU / Telemetry Cardiac Monitoring - Admits from NWH ED, direct admits from Grace Medical Center, transfers from non-tele units : Job Requirements
  • Min 2 years experience required

  • NIHSS Counts towards the annual requirement if completed within the year. (NIHSS is typically worth 2 hours - Traveler will need to complete additional stroke credit hours to complete the full 4 or 8 hours required).
