Northwest Kidney Centers seeks a Risk and Controls Program Manager to support the Senior Director of Compliance in a full-time, hybrid position (Burien, WA).


Purpose 

The Risk and Controls Program Manager reports to the Senior Director of Compliance and is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization, ensuring adherence to policies, and developing and implementing risk management strategies and organizational controls. This position requires a high level of discretion, analytical thinking, and project management skills. The Risk and Controls Program Manager conducts organizational risk assessments, assists in developing organizational controls and manages the policy review process.  


Duties

Risk and Controls:

• Develop and implement effective risk management strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Identify and draft internal control documentation and support implementation, where necessary, in collaboration with key stakeholders.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and targeted monitoring reviews.

• Stay current on industry trends and emerging risks.

 

Policy and Procedure Management:

• Oversee and manage the organization’s policy review and development process.

• Assists the Senior Director of Compliance to ensure policies address current legal, regulatory, and operational standards.

• Draft, review, and routinely improve policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.

 

Project Management and Organizational Initiatives:

• Serve as a project manager for organization-wide risk and controls management initiatives.

• Act as a liaison between departments to communicate risks and controls objectives and monitor progress on key initiatives

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Risk and Controls leadership role, preferably in an in-house or corporate setting.
  • Experience in healthcare, non-profits, or other highly regulated industries preferred. Experience with audit principles and methodologies strongly preferred.
