Description of Position
The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) serves to provide a range of expertise by overseeing the campus Benefits & Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system. We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, data-driven, multi-tasking individual who can effortlessly thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The HRC’s responsibilities will be in direct collaboration with the HR team, leadership and vendor partnerships. This role is heavily involved in benefits administration, which includes: group health, FSA/HSA accounts, dental, vision, accident and disability, life insurance, LTD, 403(b), and wellness.

This position will support and maintain data integrity of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) applications and modules. This role will conduct data analysis and make recommendations based on performance metrics. Due to the nature of the position, a high level of complete confidentiality will be of the utmost importance. This position is considered a 12-month, full time, exempt status role and reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate full cycle benefits administration using HRIS self-enrollment, resolve claims, and process life status events.
  • Develop tools to enhance understanding of the university’s benefit packages (benefits orientation, health fairs, open enrollment).
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes, and renewals related to carriers and plans.
  • Respond to HRIS/Benefits program inquires, determine eligibility, and direct employee notices.
  • Manage the university’s retirement/tuition reimbursement program.
  • Ensure compliance for government regulations, create custom reports relevant to HRIS data analytics.
  • Generate timely and accurate required reporting for plan audits, surveys and actuarial assessments.
  • Conduct systematic training for HRIS products, develop procedures and guidelines for end users.
  • Track and perform data analysis to optimize HRIS system dashboards for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business or Administration, Data Analysis or related field. Experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education.
  • Two-Four (2-4) years’ experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Computer Science or analysis, Information Systems and/or related experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to present technical and complex concepts to various audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • SHRM or PHR professional certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Administration, Data Analysis or related field. Experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education.
  • Three-Five (3-5) years’ experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Computer Science or analysis, Information Systems and/or related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits, labor laws, employment regulations.

Compensation
Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant and will be discussed with individual candidates as they are invited to interview for this position.
