Position: Press Roll Tender
Status: Full-time
Salary: $19-$24/hr., WILL TRAIN, Starting wage DOE
Hours: Days & Evenings, 8–10-hour shifts.
About this role: This position serves to handle large press paper rolls safely with clamp truck and accurately using inventory scanning system. Load rolls onto press reel stands with correct splice and paster patterns. Operate precision press stackers, perform routine press maintenance, and train for the position of Second Press Operator.
What you'll do:
· Ability to understand work instruction tickets (WIT)
· Ability to safely operate clamp truck
· Ability to accurately operate paper roll inventory scanning software and complete all paperwork
· Remove Kraft wrap from rolls without damaging paper and inspect for damage
· Pull paper rolls from inventory using WIT and inventory scan software for type and size needed
· Ability to safely load rolls into reel stands and set arm width and pre-drive for roll sizes
· Ability to web paper from reel stand to unit infeed
· Ability to correctly spot plates at printing unit according to impositions
· Remove used plates from printing units and correctly hang new plates to units
· Follow all companywide and department-specific safety protocols maintaining clean workspaces
· Assist Lead and Second Operator implementing scheduled preventive maintenance
· Ability to operate press stacking machines for precise delivery
· Communicate and work effectively with both supervisors and fellow employees
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervision and/or Lead and Second Operator(s).
