What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (Neurosurgery) position at NORTHWEST SURGICAL?
We are looking for a full time Medical Assistant to join our amazing Neurosurgery team in Vancouver, WA. The ideal candidate will possess great organizational skills and energy, a can-do attitude, a desire to learn the practice, and a collaborative team spirit. The candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, a superior commitment to patient care, and the ability to work closely with patients and physicians. This position will be based out of our Portland locations, though some travel will be required between our Vancouver locations.
Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam room and assist in chart documentation.
- Take vital signs and assist patients in patient flow through the clinic.
- Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing. Stock supplies.
- Assist physicians and APP's with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
- Check appointment schedule and assist call center with physician's patient schedule.
- Ensure that lab reports, imaging and other information is available to providers.
- Issue out-patient materials. Assist in application and patient instruction.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from a Medical Assisting program.
- Valid Washington State certification to practice medical assisting or obtain certification within 6 months from hire if working in WA state.
- One year of work experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience working with electronic medical records preferred.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Possess a strong desire for providing exceptional patient care.
