Position Summary:
The Data Specialist is responsible for entering all required data, generating reports, and assembling and filing of Migrant Education Program records. This is a 12-month, grant-funded position.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Advanced experience with databases and Excel
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of MSIX and MIS2000
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assure the completion, accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all migrant students' records and create all necessary reports
- Keep up to date on all new State data collection software and policies and disseminate the information to all staff
- Participate in COE panels
- Attend all required meetings, including all local and state Migrant Education Data Specialists' meetings and trainings
- Enter all necessary data in MIS 2000 data system, generate reports and file records
- Support the back-up Data Specialist as per the Pennsylvania Migrant Education Program (MEP) Service Delivery Plan
- Assist staff with projects and data collection tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the school community
- Complete records that conform to prescribed style and format
- Interpret and understand regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ability to organize data, records and files
- Maintain current and accurate inventory list
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in the performance of routine assignments
- Participate in yearly monitoring
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. Incumbent must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment with a vast majority of the time utilizing computers to complete daily tasks. Due to travel outside of the home office, candidates are required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license to attend job related duties, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
