Job Description
The Radiographer - Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Electrophysiology Lab Physicians with fluoroscopic diagnostic and interventional procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
- Obtains hemodynamic data and support patient care while adhering to industry standards, unit protocols, and hospital policy.
- Evaluates radiographic service requests and assesses patients to determine appropriate procedure protocol to ensure imaging quality.
- Prepares patients for procedures including prepping, draping, and connecting to monitoring devices while maintaining sterility and ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Positions patients for optimal imaging access and anatomic viewing.
- Assists in procedures as needed, maintaining aseptic principles.
- Participates in patient transport to and from the procedure room.
- Documents imaging procedures electronically.
- Monitors and manages inventory of supplies, ensuring collaboration with supply chain for timely reordering and proper rotation to prevent expiration.
- Maintains clean and orderly environment, using any downtime to organize supplies and ensure room readiness.
- Reports equipment issues and performs daily checks, scheduling maintenance as needed with proper urgency.
- Performs fluoroscopic imaging in accordance with radiation safety practices as outlined by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety and Nuclear Regulatory Commission to limit exposure to patient, self, and coworkers.
- Completes departmental regulatory requirements and continuing education.
- Ensures patient safety during imaging by assessing cognitive and sensory capabilities and responds accordingly.
- Identifies and assists with interventions for heart rhythm disorders.

Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Applied Sciences
- ARRT certified, IDNS License, BCLS Certification
- Maintains competencies and complies with continuing education requirements of credentialing agencies
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.

- Bachelor of Science degree
- Pacing experience
- Electrogram monitoring experience
- MAC Cardiolab Experience
- Bloom Pulse Generator Experience
- RCIS Certification
