Position: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Position Description:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager to include: picking, packing and shipping all customer orders with a focus on accuracy and timeliness; organizing and maintaining inventory through sorting, stocking, bagging and labeling; receiving inbound shipments; and preparing outbound shipments for subcontractors.
Position Responsibilities:
Receiving
- Process all incoming shipments in a timely and orderly fashion.
- Inspect, count, and put away parts or distribute packages to appropriate departments/individuals.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
Inventory
- Stock and log items in inventory, and sort product into bags or boxes for easier picking and inventory control.
- Conduct cycle counts, identify damaged or non-conforming inventory.
Picking
- Accurately pick products from storage locations.
- Gather appropriate forms, manuals, or circulars for each addressee as indicated by shipping instructions.
Packing
- Verify accurate sorting of orders.
- Package product and determine methods of shipment.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
Shipping
- Package product, determine methods of shipment, and verify quantities of product being shipped.
- Ship orders accurately and on time.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Assure all products accounted for and in good condition prior to shipping.
Other
- Maintain shipping area and equipment and ensure a safe environment.
- Work with Warehouse Manager to develop and implement systems to improve shipping department functions.
- Communicate with sales, operations and assembly to ensure shipping timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintain training materials and conduct training of new employees in shipping area.
Position Requirements:
- High school education or GED
- Experience with Warehouse Inventory or ERP system.
- Excellent attention to detail as well as written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated with a pleasant attitude that works well with others
- Able to stand or walk throughout work day and to lift/move 100 pounds.
- Experience with UPS Worldship and FedEx preferred
- Experience in warehouse, shipping or logistics environment preferred
Compensation:
- Hours 8-4:30 p.m.
- Pay commensurate with experience
