Roles
The Controller is responsible for the administration of financial accounting, operations, external and internal reporting, budgeting, audit and compliance. Oversight of accounting staff, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Reports to the VP-Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates and assists with the preparation of the annual operational and capital budgets
- Draft,implement and enforce university policies and procedures
- Maintain detailed asset database, including depreciation schedule
- Review and approve invoices, contributions, payroll requisitions for appropriateness
- Analyzes, reports budget performance and variances and makes recommendation on corrective action
- Forecasts trends and other analytical support
- Compiles data and prepares managerial reports on an ad hoc basis
- Advise and support otherdepartments with financial advice and guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study and at least 10 years of work experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis.
- CPA license required
- Have excellent analytical skills and possess advanced technical skills

- Have thorough knowledge of operational activities in order to prepare an accurate budget
