Responsibilities
Provides professional, technical oversight of the Chemistry laboratory of NHC, assuring that all chemistry tests are resulted accurately and timely, and that the department meets or exceeds the standards and regulations of all appropriate regulatory agencies. Interacts with the medical staffs to consult about and help interpret results as needed to help assure the best possible patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews all quality control data to ensure the highest quality laboratory testing and interpretation is provided.
- Actively supports administrative initiatives (cost containment, increased productivity) of the section.
- Recommends appropriate test menu for patient populations served including in house versus send-out status.
- Provides technical management of the chemistry section.
- Ensures the processing of all clinical specimens meeting or exceeding all requirements for timeliness, quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
Required:
- One year in clinical laboratory
- Doctorate Degree
Desired:
- Five years in clinical laboratory
