Responsibilities
EHR Technician completes a variety of tasks associated with the collecting, assessing and processing of patient documentation. Application of knowledge includes the process to store, retrieve, review, assess, and process health-related information in both paper format and electronic format. This person serves as a resource for all members of patient care teams to improve patient documentation that allow for accurate medical record practices compliant with applicable Federal, State and Accreditation guidelines. The work done by the EHR Technician contributes to overall patient safety, revenue cycle management and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Electronic Health Records Tech Telecom Agent Responsibilities:
· Announcing codes and pages through Vocera, ( Norton’s hospital communication system) throughout the Norton network of Hospitals
· Answering and transferring calls to the appropriate location
· Request medical records to be mailed or faxed to Norton Healthcare and log through Epic (Norton’s digital medical record system)
· Store, retrieve, review, assess, and process health-related information in both paper format and electronic format
· Answer calls from other healthcare entities and release records via request over the phone, Epic, Mail and Fax

Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider – physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner – in the medical office setting.
The Medical Assistant works closely with the physician in the practice/center clinical setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as the clinical liaison between physician and patient and between physician and the office staff.
