Responsibilities
The Manager of Infection Prevention is responsible for the administration and management of the Infection Control department. Work is performed with latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment within established policies and is reviewed in collaboration with other department leaders as appropriate. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the department employees are providing the services appropriate to the needs, including ages, of the patient population served.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinates and integrates federal, state, and local standards into facility, system, and Infection prevention practices by developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the system’s and Infection prevention’s compliance with standards and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrates a functional understanding of all state and federal regulations, which pertain to and affect Infection prevention.
- Coordinates and oversees IP performance improvement initiatives across the system. Collaborate with IP Medical Director and leaders within the Quality team to identify areas of opportunities for performance improvement.
- Serves as an active member of the IP committee; responsible for planning, directing, guiding and supporting in the administration of hospital functions under the Infection Control Committee Ensure consistent and adequate representation across the matrix groups within Norton Healthcare and appropriate committees and agencies in the community/region. Facilitate the achievement and maintenance of clinical targets for the infection prevention program. Act as a consultant to other Infection perfectionists and leadership to address gaps in performance.
- Responsible for the integration of the IP Committee into the primary functions and objectives of each Hospital.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years of experience as an RN
- Bachelor Degree
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or must obtain within 12 months of hire
- Registered Nurse. (KY)

- Master Degree
