Responsibilities
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing, and guiding the administration of hospital functions under the Environment of Care Committee. He/she is responsible for the integration of the EOC Committee into the primary functions and objectives of the facilities. The position integrates federal, state, and local safety standards into facility practice. He/she develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the facility's compliance with standards of safety and regulatory agencies, and complements environmental standards in the state. The position ensures the facility is in compliance with The Joint Commission, Medicare, State, OSHA, CAP, AABB, Life Safety Codes and other accrediting and licensing agencies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years of experience in healthcare setting
Desired:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Master Degree
- Certified Healthcare Safety Professional OR Certified Safety Professional
