COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHER JOB TITLE: Computer Science Teacher REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Director of Corporate Work Study and Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITES: To oversee all aspects of classroom instruction to students ABOUT NOTRE DAME CRISTO REY HIGH SCHOOL (NDCR) www.ndcrhs.org: Established in Lawrence, MA in 2004, NDCR is a private, Catholic, college preparatory high school currently based in Methuen, Massachusetts and serving 290 economically challenged youth. NDCR is part of the Cristo Rey Network, a growing association of 37 schools across the United States whose education model is built around the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), a unique and highly successful partnership with the business community. Through the CWSP, students work five full days a month at one of 75 companies throughout the Merrimack Valley, I-93/495 corridors, and southern New Hampshire to earn the majority of their tuition. OUR CORE VALUES: Goodness of God · Education for Life · Integrity · Respect · Family · Community ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Classroom function: • Cover all aspects of the Cristo Rey Network Computer Science curriculum • Participate in Cristo Rey Network seminars and training sessions • Daily lesson plans for classes • Use developmentally and behaviorally age-appropriate tools, materials, activities • Maintain all pertinent records in PowerSchool • Manage student behavior • Keep accurate accounting of books, texts, and/or calculators NDCR Computer Skills 4/27/2021 Coordination and communication including: • Grading • Student progress reports • Report cards • Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings • Communication with parents • Attendance at required faculty meetings • Attendance at parent/student conferences, Back to School evenings, Parent Evening Conferences and other events as may be required • Work with the Corporate Work Study Program teaching specific technology courses and virtual training of students in the workplace using online computer modules • Assisting other teaching staff with strategizing and utilizing CWSP computer technology in the classroom Participation in school activities including: • Consistent and regular work attendance • In-service training including annual summer orientation program • Attendance during the 2 staff days immediately after the last day of exams • Curriculum development • Other related activities • Abide by all regulations as indicated in the Employee/Faculty Handbook MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Teachers must possess: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, mathematics, or related degree and a minimum • Valid teaching license or working toward licensure • Ability to teach Applied Educational Software (AES) to create lesson plans to teach Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to teach Algebra I and Geometry COMMUNICATION SKILLS Teachers must: • Communicate in English both orally and in writing, commensurate with age and skill of the listener • Ability to speak Spanish a plus • Communicate successfully and pleasantly with the public • Actively pursue information in their curriculum area • Accurately compile and access data, summarize information and provide written reports to supervisor Application Process: If you would like to be considered for this position at Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School, please submit the following information via email. 1.
