Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking to hire an Enterprise Infrastructure Manager for our IT Team.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Manager leads, plans, and optimizes the University’s campus infrastructure and related systems including the campus copper and fiber network (wired and wireless), cyber and data security (firewalls, VPN, data security and compliance), servers (virtual and physical), Active Directory and DNS, identity and access Management, backup and disaster recovery, desktop technologies (computers, printers and phones), M365 and Azure cloud technologies.
Major responsibilities include acting as an enabler for campus-wide technology efforts at Notre Dame, and assisting the Director of Information Technology in identifying and prioritizing capital project initiatives that support the NDMU mission and the IT strategic plan. The duties of the Infrastructure Manager include project management, vendor management, and procurement of equipment needed to maintain and improve the campus infrastructure. The Manager provides a support role for axillary services including enterprise printing, dining services technology, mailroom technology, IP security cameras, and door access.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems or related field from an accredited college or university required. Certification(s) in Network Administration, Security Administration, etc. preferred.
Experience: At least five (5) years of progressive, responsible, professional experience in information technology/systems, including supervisory experience, is required. Direct technical experience working with computers, servers, network equipment, and network security is required. Higher education professional experience is preferred.
Skills/Aptitude:
- Ability to direct, lead, and mentor IT professionals across a wide range of technologies.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and documentation skills, including a demonstrated track record of leading the execution of complex IT projects.
- Experience in developing and managing a variety of vendor contracts and relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technology concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple, concurrent projects and deadlines with minimal direction from the IT Director.
- Hands-on knowledge of network equipment: routers, switches, wireless access points and peripheral equipment.
- Must understand basic and advanced security controls including firewall protection and data loss prevention.
- Understanding of relevant cyber and data security laws and regulations including GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR and their practical implementation.
- Thorough understanding of Windows desktop standards and hardware components and replacement practices is essential.
Pre-Employment Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment (walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, etc.). Medium physical demands such as bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting, and pushing may be required – Must be able to lift at least 25lbs. Some night and weekend work may be occasionally required.
