Description
Notre Dame Preparatory School, a Catholic, independent school for girls Grades 6-12, located in Towson Maryland seeks a part-time Spanish teacher for Upper Level for the 2025 – 2026 school year. This position is part-time approximately 15 hours per week and is expected to report and teach daily during the assigned schedule (approximately 3-hours per day). Annual dates for the 10-month position are August 16th to June 15th (as well as attending new employee orientation in mid-August 2025).
The teacher’s responsibility will be to teach basic levels to the more advanced Spanish cohorts. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record in Spanish language and literature with an understanding of the communicative method of instruction. While special emphasis is placed on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, there will also be a focus on the implementation of the new Partnership 21st Century Skills Map. The Department’s philosophy emphasizes multi-sensory, cooperative learning, with the teacher acting as facilitator for student discovery of concepts. An understanding of a variety of learning styles is essential. Notre Dame Prep is a one-to-one laptop school and has a language lab with audio, video and internet capability; the skills and knowledge to utilize available technology is a strong consideration in the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 2 out of 8 class periods each day.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Language department on developing/improving curriculum.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned, such as advisory.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred.
- Spanish teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to stay organized.

Annual salary is $18,000 to $28,000 based upon degrees and experience. NDP offers pro-rated paid time off (sick, personal) for part-time faculty as well as ability to access the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
