The nSI Research and Development (R&D) Team seeks to deploy new products for military and commercial use. Responsibilities:
- Support the design, assembly, integration, test, maintenance, and repair of aerospace components, systems, and prototypes.
- Completion of a vocational training program or associate degree in aerospace technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Able to work on-site in a lab or high-bay facility setting with tools for extended periods.
- Possess or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or prior hands-on experience in an aerospace related field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, tools, and equipment, such as drivers and fasteners, stripping and crimping tools, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools, such as SolidWorks or Fusion360.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Certification or proficiency with one or more of the following:
- Wire harness assembly
- IPC 610 (J-STD) Soldering
- IPC 620 Cable Harness Fabrication
- Familiarity with MIL-SPEC and MIL-STD connectors and accessories
- Instrumentation assembly and installation
- Mechanical assembly
- Electronics assembly and testing
- Adhesives and bonding
- Composites manufacturing
- Additive manufacturing (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.)
- Aerospace painting and surface preparation
- Precision measurement tools and techniques
- Quality control and safety
