Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to improve the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety in various care settings such as home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. This role requires a blend of practical skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care services while ensuring the dignity and respect of each client.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions.
- Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals to meet individual needs.
- Assist with medication administration as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Provide support for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
Skills
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in group homes or assisted living environments is a plus.
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for patient mobility assistance.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
- Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs.
- Familiarity with home health care practices and hospice care principles.
- Experience working directly with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
