Position Overview
This position play a critical role in improving the reliability of our heavy electro-mechanical equipment. Working in conjunction with operations and other maintenance employees, “A” Electricians assist in troubleshooting systems, coordinating project work and maintaining equipment functionality. Electricians report to the Associate EMRA Leader- Maintenance.
- Day-to-day maintenance and repairs of a wide range of electromechanical equipment.
- Involvement in project work related to productivity improvement and equipment reliability.
- Be able to work independently to maintain, repair, adjust or recalibrate complex electrical, and electronic equipment, controls and instrumentation.
- Must be able to work outside trade as the need and their abilities permit.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision on a complete range of electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment within the plant.
- Must be able to organize and supervise less skilled craftsperson on specific jobs.
- Must be able to take a proactive stance on safety matters whether personal or third party nature.
- Perform visual inspection of key equipment and components.
- Identify, prioritize, and schedule major outage projects.
- Develop measures for improved performance.
- Use of SAP is critical to write work orders and purchase requisitions.
- Provide support in the aluminum manufacturing process by working closely with the Operations, Engineering, Administrative, and Process Groups.
- Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise for equipment and systems problems to maintenance and operations teams
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Journeymen’s license
- At minimum 2 years’ manufacturing experience
- Have a good working knowledge of PLC’s.
- Program both digital and analog controllers.
- Troubleshoot and repair A.C. and D.C. motors and drive systems.
- Install, troubleshoot and repair low voltage (up to 600V) circuits and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair medium voltage (600-13,000V) circuits and equipment.
- Build and install electrical panels and install conduit and wiring up to 600V.
- Understand and explain a variety of electrical drawings, instrument loop sheets, P & ID’s and mechanical GA’s and assembly drawings.
- Be competent in the use of precision instruments including.
